Offering enhanced position accuracy, improved cycle times, smaller footprint and less weight compared with previous machines, this second-generation CL2 has been redesigned to include all the features of the previous automated machines as well as many new features requested by customers. Some of these features include:
Brushless drilling-motor design suitable for controlled-environment production areas
Increased pattern and hole quantity capacity
Pattern recall by pattern number of part number (up to 8 digits)
16 speed keys for immediate recall of highly used patterns
Password protection for edit modes
In-process pause and abort commands
Manual mode functions for setup, testing and tool changes
The CL2 can be configured as an automated 3-axis (with manual y-axis), 4-axis or 4-axis with Tandem Rotary Grasper system. Optional components are readily available to meet performance requirements for application-specific functions. Some of the more popular options include non-contact lumen locating for accurate hole placement in multi-lumen tubing, vacuum plug collection, and regrasping/rehoming.
New to the CL2 is the ability to quickly convert from a Smart Driller™ to a Smart Puncher™ with TI’s new modular design. The interchangeable heads result in a single machine now being able to perform the operations previously requiring two completely separate systems.”
Any stored pattern can be easily recalled. Drill depth can be easily set from the catheter surface.
